eBay Defamation SOP

Overview#

Purpose: The purpose of this SOP is to have the standard way on how to send eBay a request to remove defamatory statements from customers.

Scope: This applies to customer service representative staff and to all Bragan personnel that are appointed by the management.

Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the customer service staff or any person who has been appointed by the management to do send requests to eBay to remove defamatory statements from customers.

Objective: To be able to standardize the way of creating and sending a request to eBay to remove defamatory statements from customers.

eBay defamatory statements

  1. Go to eBay feedback comments
  2. Using the snipping tool, snip the comment
  3. Paste comment onto a word document and at the top of the document label it 'Exhibit One'
  4. Write 'this comment is defamatory' followed by the additional comment as instructed.
  5. Save this document as a word document in the Defam folder under that day date EXAMPLE 12082017 - 12th Aug 2017.
  6. Using the PDF converter upload the word document and the eBay defamation form and ensure that the correct date is at the bottom of the eBay form.
  7. Move the bottom file to the top (as shown on the video)
  8. Save this is the Defam folder under that days date, label document Exhibit One.
  9. Go to the eBay defamation uploading site - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/defam.html
  10. Click on Upload your documents.
  11. Follow instructions as shown on the video.

PLEASE NOTE: THE SECOND PAGE OF THE DEFAM FORM, PLEASE ENSURE THAT TODAY'S DATE IS ON IT.

Note: This is very important to have the Standard Operating Procedure on how to send to eBay to remove the defamatory statement from customers. Attached here is the eBay Defam form. And a sample video showing the process of sending a request to remove defamatory statements to eBay.
