How to Create Listing Title for Each Channel

Overview#

Purpose: Standard Operating Procedures are the clear and concise documents that will serve as the guiding principle in every task in this business. The purpose of this document is to outline to new and existing employees how to create a Listing Title.

Scope: This procedure applies to all Bragan Personnel.

Responsibility: It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure the process set out in this procedure is followed.

Objective: The objective of this procedure is:

To help employees create Listing Title for all Bragan products.

Procedure#

eBay0 Listing Title

eBay0 Title Format: maximum character is 80, the minimum is 78, use as many as possible. Avoid keyword repetition.
Add Wheelbase if applicable use the abbreviation only. (SWB - Short Wheel Base, MWB - Medium Wheelbase & LWB - Long Wheel Base).
In the wheelbase section, this is not only limited to wheelbase. Any distinctive property of the vehicle model can also be added here. Example for pick up you can add here the type of bed of the truck, whether it is a short bed or a long bed. Or the type of door for a van, whether it is a barn door or a tailgate. Make sure to read description of listing to have an idea.
Must put Black at the beginning of product listing title if applicable - These are items with BLACK in SKU Code and obviously black in color. For black items, make sure to add first the word BLACK then count the number of characters, if it already reaches the maximum 80 then do not add the keywords but if still less, then add the keywords. Items with -DL in the SKU, example is BRA4733B-DL, means it has a detachable name plate, which is usually a feature of a bull bar or A bar. If it is still within the character limit, put Detachable Name Plate to the additional keywords.
The year should be always complete, for example: 2021+ (not 21+). Another example: 2012 - 2018, (not 12-18).
For spare parts make sure to add the item title it would fit to. For example: you have BRASP4128260 spare strip for 2013+ Land Rover Range Rover Sport Running Boards - BRA41282 the title should be:

Note:

For the spare part description, make sure that it is specific especially for end caps of running boards or roof rails. Make sure to include if it is rear right or front left. Ex. End Cap Rear Right To Fit VK Volkswagen Amarok 2010-2016 Running Board (this is an example only and not a true item).

For Spare Parts make sure to add in the description what SKU number it would fit to. If it fits multiple SKUs, please detail all SKUs that would fit this item in the Description Part. Add: Please note: Would also fit the following SKUs then add the item description. Before listing you can confirm with warehouse if there are other items the spare part would fit to. You can include this together when you are confirming the inventory details of the spare part.

If the spare part is for a BLACK item. Example: BRAX41011C-BLACK bracket for 2010 - 2016 VW Volkswagen Amarok Side Bars BLACK- CURVED, the title should be:

make sure that the title length is still within the standard

Above is only an example since latest rule is that all spare pieces for roof rails, running board nameplates and brackets should be listed in Magento only (not in ebay0 and ebay1). These items are purposely removed from eBay channels.
If you are not sure what to call the spare part or warehouse also do not know what to call it, please ask management.

Amazon Title Format: maximum character is 200, the minimum is 80. Avoid keyword repetition. Add Keywords as much as possible as the maximum is 200 characters, this will help in the SEO optimization in Amazon.
Add Wheelbase if applicable use the abbreviation only. (SWB - Short Wheel Base, MWB - Medium Wheelbase & LWB - Long Wheel Base).
In the wheelbase section, this is not only limited to wheelbase. Any distinctive property of the vehicle model can also be added here. Must put Black at the beginning of product listing title if applicable - These are items with BLACK in SKU Code. For items with -DL in the SKU Code, put Detachable Name Plate in the Additional Keywords.
For the Amazon listing title, the terms ‘Factory' (for painted spoilers), 'High Quality' and 'To Fit' must not be used as this word is against amazon policy to include in the title which may cause company account suspension / or being blocked in Amazon. Always use the new format in creating amazon title.

Adding Additional Keywords

Keywords are added to the title to make the item more searchable in the website. Thus, never choose a keyword that is not related to the item or not commonly used. These should be words that you would consider typing in the search bar.

Most commonly used keywords we add is the material of the item, example, stainless steel Or what type of vehicle is this item for, example, is the item for a truck, a van or a 4x4. Truck, van and 4x4 are therefore considered as keywords. Location of the item in the vehicle can also be considered as additional keywords example top, side, rear or front.

Make sure to read the description part of the listing so you have an idea what is the material or for what type of vehicle. If this is a very new listing and description is not available you can ask warehouse what is the material. See SOP on how to do warehouse queries.

You can also use similar/synonymous term of the item like for example the item is a running board then you can use keywords such as side steps. The more product knowledge you have the better you can add relevant keywords.

You can also check similar listing to get more ideas on the keywords to add.

Make sure also that the character limit is met. Do not add keywords if title already reached the maximum 80 characters for eBay or 200 for Amazon.

No Need to add Keywords.

Do not add any quantity to titles in ebay0, ebay1, magento, and amazon websites.

For example of not allowed title is ''Spoiler x1 For Ford Transit.''

The correct title is ''Spoiler For Ford Transit.''

For spare parts make sure to add the item title it would fit to. Add also the quantity of the spare piece in the title. For example: you have BRASP4128260 spare strip for 2013+ Land Rover Range Rover Sport Running Boards - BRA41282 the title should be:

Lighting Accessories Title#

For lights, these would have a different format since the lighting accessories can fit many different items like they can be added to both side bars, roll bars etc.

Format for listing title for lights would be:

Voltage/Wattage + Item Description + Additional Keywords (if applicable)

Please note that for Magento, there is no need for additional keywords.

Example of titles for lights are the following:

12v/24v 42.4" Black Aluminum DRL Spot Light Flood LED Light Bar Truck Van 4x4 - for eBay with 80 characters 12v/24v 42.4" Black Aluminium DRL Spot Light Flood LED Light Bar - for Magento - no need for keywords

Stainless is a good keyword, do not use steel. Also for LEDs do not use Flush or Slim, just use LEDs as keyword in title.

Choose keywords that are useful that used by customers to search products to buy.

How To Count characters in Excel

LEN Function in Excel can be used to count the number of characters in a text string and able to count letters, numbers, special characters, non-printable characters, and all spaces from an excel cell.

For black items like roof bars – keywords used is ‘powder coated stainless steel’ or steel – if no space available for character count. Make, model, and year and essential.

For Chrome / stainless items like roof bar, bull bar, and corner bars – the keyword used is stainless or stainless steel.

For plastic – keyword used in title is ABS. We dont add Plastic to titles

For items with -DL, keywords are Detachable Name Plate

Additional Notes:

This system strictly needs to be followed so listings will be prioritized in eBay search results. It is important to follow the sop in creating a title for each channel especially in ebay0 and ebay1, the title should be no duplicates and follow title format to avoid the company having a penalty and listers can't list and edit listings for 7 days or the company account being block on eBay. Avoid using special characters like / and avoid using connecting words like is, and, or. Use words that might use by customers to search for a certain product. For ROOF RAILS with plastic feet, 'PLASTIC' should not be added to the title as a keyword because customers would think that the whole roof rail is made of plastic and will affect company sales. Years in the title should be complete For example 2021+ not 21+, 2016 -2018 not 16-18. Do not add any quantity to titles like x1 x2 in eBay0, eBay1, Magento and Amazon For SKUs with BLACK in sku code - Black is at the beginning of listing title -
