New Format in Listing Description

Overview#

Purpose: The purpose of this SOP is to give an idea about the new format for listing description and what old format should be remove in the listing description.

Scope: This applies to the product listers and all personnel who is in charge of this process.

Responsibility: It is the responsibility of all staff to follow the standard operating procedure about old format listing description that needs to change to new format.

Objective: The objective of this procedure is to guide employees about old format that needs to change to new format in listing.

The following are the old formats in the listing that need to update when listing into a new format. These old formats are usually used in old listings but not allowed to use for new listings. Once you see these in the listings please remove or update it to correct format.

  1. Multi purchase price reductions.

Remove this phrase if you see this in any listings. Please check both listing description and magento short description in the extended property tab.

  1. NOT pre-wired

If you see this phrase, please update it to the new format: NOT pre-wired / Pre- wired service available

This is also sometimes found in the extended properties so make sure to update there also.

  1. Mirror Polished

If you see this phrase, please update it to the new format: Chrome Mirror Polished

This is also sometimes found in the extended properties so make sure to update there also.

  1. Supplied by Hyundai EU dealers; Supplied by Nissan EU dealers; Supplied by Ford EU dealers.

A phrase like this in the listing description should be removed and replace with supplied by main dealer.

  1. New format for VAT template

"VAT Invoice, Fitting Instructions and Tracking info will be sent as an email attachment after purchase - please check spam folder if not received." - always use this for all listings. If you found one that is not the same to this then update.

Some font are in bold like the item for sale in 1st paragraph of description, Please note, Dimension of item for sale, Certifications and VAT invoice template.

LED color options for customers should not be included in listing description.

Example: Please specify for LED color preferred if it is Red, Blue or White.

This phrase is not allowed.

  1. Disclaimer part at the bottom should have a font size of 9. If you find listings that do not follow the standard font size then please update.

All warranties under consumer laws within the European Community Consumer Laws against defects are provided by the Seller.

  1. Stainless Lifetime Warranty

If you are only selling the bars (stainless bars) and no other composites then just use Lifetime Warranty. However, if the bar is a black item or it is part of a bundle, example Roof Bar + Flush LEDs then it should be Stainless Lifetime Warranty since if you will still use Lifetime Warranty, customers might think that the other items in the bundle like the Flush LEDs has also lifetime warranty when in fact most lights has only 12 months warranty.

This is also found in the extended properties so make sure to edit there also.

We stand by our quality products - remove this phrase after warranty.

Example: Stainless lifetime warranty - we stand by our quality products.

Correct is: Stainless lifetime warranty

Example: Lifetime warranty - we stand by our quality products.

Correct is : Lifetime warranty

  1. 'to suit' in listing description should be change to 'for'
  2. Listings with '+' in year model in the listing description for example is '2010+' model in the listing description should be changed to '2010 - present models.'
  3. Phone and emailed for Technical Support.

This is an old format usually in magento short description and listing description. New format for this is: Email & phone technical support.

  1. For Amazon listing description and bullets, do not use the term ‘Factory' in items related to painted spoilers. For example instead of describing the Colour or Finish as 'Factory Painted White' you can simply use ‘Painted White'.

This section is important so Adhoc points and issues can be logged. Also, Q&A can be logged for suggestions for potential issues encountered. Also, log important notes needed for this system. Additional Notes:

Remove multi-purchase price reductions both new listings and update listings. Always use new format for new listings and update listings.

Potential Issues:

1 - ISSUE ENCOUNTERED: Stuck on Loading

RESOLUTION: Refresh Browser

2 - ISSUE ENCOUNTERED: Broken Links

RESOLUTION: Get the external link as this will allow other people to access the SOP without the need for login credentials and avoid broken links.

3 - ISSUE ENCOUNTERED: Complain from the customer.

RESOLUTION: Remove multi-purchase price reduction both in description and Magento short description.
