Overview#

Purpose: Ebay business policies is the method in which you will set the rules for postage, returns and payment through eBay.  The purpose of this document is to outline to new and existing staff how to create, edit and understand business policies on eBay.

Scope: This procedure applies to all at Bragan. Personnel must be approved by management to edit anything in eBay policies.

Responsibility: It is the responsibility of each employee to ensure the process set out in this procedure is followed.

Objective: To have the entire team knowledgeable on eBay business policies and how they are used in Bragan.

2.Ebay Business Policies Overview There are three types of business policy on eBay.

Postage Policy Payment Policy Returns Policy

The postage policy determines rules relating to dispatch and delivery of the the orders. The payments policy determines how and when you can receive payment for the orders. The returns policy determines who will pay for returns and what the cut off time for accepting returns is.

2.1 Postage Policy

The postage policy is set into two main parts, Domestic Postage, and International Postage. Domestic postage is referring to any order that is delivered to the UK or Ireland. This should be set up as shown in fig 2.1.1.

Broken down, this is showing that we offer free shipping to all deliveries inside the UK and Ireland, the courier will take three to five business days to deliver the item after dispatch, and finally that the order will be dispatched one day after the order is placed.

The international postage section is a little more complex. However, it should be set up as shown in fig 2.1.2.

To be able to ship internationally you mus have 'Flat: same cost to all buyers' selected, as shown in fig 2.1.3. But because this is selected it will bring up some international shipping rules to apply, these are not needed as we work off of out international rates table (Insert link to IRT SOP). It is eBay rules the one rule must be applied here, even though it is not needed, so we add in one rule, that follows the same rule as the International Postage Rates Table, fig 2.1.4.

Once this has been done, select 'Apply domestic postage rate table' and 'Apply international postage rate table', fig 2.1.5. This will apply the predefined postage rates
